We affirm our belief in the following doctrines as taught in the Holy Scriptures and as summarized in the Baptist Faith and Message, adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000:
The Scriptures: We believe that the Holy Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and the final authority for faith and life.
God: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with distinct roles and attributes, but united in essence and purpose.
Creation: We believe that God created the universe and all that exists, including humanity, in six literal days, according to the Genesis account.
Sin: We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and therefore, are separated from God and in need of salvation.
Salvation: We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who died on the cross and rose from the dead, paying the penalty for our sin and reconciling us to God.
Baptism: We believe that baptism is a public expression of faith in Jesus Christ and a symbol of our identification with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection.
The Church: We believe that the church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers in Jesus Christ, and that each local congregation is autonomous, self-governing, and responsible to carry out the Great Commission.
The Lord's Supper: We believe that the Lord's Supper is a symbolic representation of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, and that it should be observed regularly by believers in remembrance of Him.
Sanctification: We believe that sanctification is the process of becoming more like Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
Second Coming: We believe in the imminent, bodily return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead and establish His kingdom on earth.
We hold these doctrines to be essential to the faith and practice of our church, and we pledge to teach and uphold them in all our activities and ministries.
